WHAT
WHAT IS KBU?
Nitte–KBL Kaun Banega Udyamapati (KBU) contest is designed to promote entrepreneurship amongst people across all ages by identifying ideas and talent that can create tomorrow’s businesses. It also provides a platform for students to bring forward their innovative ideas to help them interact with the corporate and industrial sectors. The Contest is open to business ideas in the areas of (1) Bio-Tech (2) Medi- Tech (3) Agri- Tech (4) Energy and (5) Software as a service (SaaS)
WHY
WHY INDIA NEEDS KBU?
India has the largest startup ecosystem with 43000+ recognized startups by the Government of India. With the improvement in Global Innovation Index, India now ranks 48th position globally and holds tight to make more of the innovation and improvement into ranking and technology development. All facets of the economy are leveraging technology for broader reach, convenience and effectiveness. In this context, AIC-Nitte Incubation Centre in association with Karnataka Bank is organizing Kaun Banega Udyamapati Contest (KBU) to provide a platform for startups to grow at the regional level and to contribute towards Make in India, Startup India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

WHO CAN JOIN KBU?
This Contest seeks innovative ideas from all ages, backgrounds and communities.
You could be a Student, Research Team or an Individual with an inventive Idea intending to venture into the exciting field of entrepreneurship.
You could be an early/idea stage startup for new products, process and services.
WHAT DOES AN UDAYAMAPATI GET?
Cash Prizes
Top five innovative business ideas,
which can be commercialized, will get seed
capital up to 25 lakhs.
Incubation Support
Winners will be provided with free Incubation
Support for a period of one year to
commercialize their business ideas.
Mentoring Support
Expert Guidance, Strategic Advice and Mentorship
will be provided by Industry
Experts to the 25 finalists.
Recognition & Publicity
Five winners will also gain mileage from

Every Participant will get access to ‘3 Hour Programme’ with FREE sessions on various topics to enhance their knowledge and expertise. They will also be provided with ‘Participation Certificate’ after the session.
TOP 100
Top 100 Shortlisted Applications by Jury Members will get access to ’8 Day Programme’ with FREE sessions by Mentors & Industry Experts to help them develop & build ideas for KBU.
TOP 50
Top 50 Shortlisted Ideas by Jury Members will be part of Semi Finale of KBU. They will get access to ‘2 day BootCamp Programme’ offered by AIC Nitte Incubation Centre. The last day of BootCamp will be a Pitch session with Investors and 25 Ideas shortlisted by Investors will join the Finale of KBU.
TOP 25
Top 25 shortlisted Ideas by Investors will undergo Orientation & Training Session by Grooming Experts, Image & Branding Consultants, Personality Development & Profiling Coach. They will get access to one-on-one mentorship by World Class Experts in the ‘10 Day Programme’.

Each episode will have one winner out of five participants. Season 1 of KBU is a Pilot Project comprising of five episodes & five winners. They will get exciting rewards and prizes mentioned below.
HOW TO BECOME A UDYAMAPATI?
Share your idea
Business ideas may be submitted individually or by a team of not more than three members with their affiliations on or before 15th October ‘21
Optimize
The business idea chosen should be technically and commercially viable, unique and aim towards furthering the economic/social growth of an industry, community, government, nation or humanity in general.

Selection Process
An expert panel will review the business idea & select the top 50 innovative business ideas
Get Shortlisted
The shortlisted participants will be invited for KBU Competition which is live telecasted on T.V. Channel during December 2021

The Nitte Education Trust is one among the few reputed Institutions selected by NITI Aayog, for setting up an Atal Incubation Centre, under Atal Innovation Mission of GOI.
